Why is Western education unfair?
Why does western education only give credits to the whites?
For example it is taught that the first printed book was at Nuremberg when in truth the Chinese had already been doing printing hundreds of years before Nuremberg did it. That also goes the same with the mechanical watch, rocket, Seismograph, expressionism, etc...
The ancient Chinese invented many things we use today, including paper, silk, matches, wheelbarrows, gunpowder, the decimal system, the waterwheel, the sundial, astronomy, porcelain china, lacquer paint, pottery wheel, fireworks, paper money, compass, seismograph, tangrams, medicines, dominoes, jump rope, kites, tea ceremony, Folding Umbrella, ink, calligraphy, animal harness, playing cards, printing, abacus, wallpaper, the crossbow, ice cream, and etc..
So is the west really insecure with the advance civilization of the East?
We learned that the first bound BOOKS were first pressed in Germany. And that a form of printing was indeed used in China before that. Everyone knows the CHinese invented Gun Powder and the magnetic compass. BE fair, we learn these things.
I have a friend who is Japanese. They do not teach their kids about the rape of Nanking, or of the other atrocities they did in Korea. They also do not teach their kids about Pearl Harbor. And yet, they focus on us Nuking them in 1945. And yet, they started the war. Funny how people tend to leave out those little bits of information. It goes both ways. I am sure the Chinese do not teach anything positive about the west to their kids. Why would they? I remember actually having to decorate our room in Elementary school with Chinese decorations and other decor from other asian countries when we studied them. And we did this for weeks.
SO to just say that we are not taught about the east is wrong.
