Umbrella Rig
Has anyone used the umbrella platforms in any freshwater lake stripers other fish? ?
I'm looking to try something different. I had luck at fishing stripers on the East Coast, but I wanted to test the platform in the Great Lakes umbrella and wondered if anyone was lucky.
I have used in Elephant Butte Lake in New Mexico (to strippers)

If you like BBQ, but hate the mess, consider creating an area of the outdoor kitchen with barbecue islands in it. These islands can be very elegant or very simple, the choice is yours in terms of budget and design and what you want to include in your outdoor kitchen. BBQ Islands are usually the focal point in a design curved so it can pass from the grill to the kitchen counters, etc.
They are often inlaid with mosaic and are very durable and beautiful. Even I have seen these islands barbecue (generally as part of an outdoor kitchen complete set up) with an umbrella on the counter, so, with feces on the other side of the counter serves as a bar or eating bar. And your guests can chat with you when you are on the grill, as long as the smoke that blows the other way! Of course, the wind depends entirely on Mother Nature.
I have seen outdoor kitchens ranging from a small stainless steel refrigerator, grill and maybe some modest tools to the platforms, very elegant in the gardens of the mansion. They are also an important feature if you are remodeling your home with an eye to the resale of a little later. They add tremendous value to a home, especially in you live in a favorable climate. While a barbecue during the day is great in the spring, summer and autumn, your outdoor kitchen at night for drinks around a fire, perhaps a wine tasting group with grilled salmon and vegetable snacks would be a wonderful way to stimulate conversation.
You can not see the stars while sitting with friends and family, if you are indoors! A tip for cooking fish or vegetables, which tend to be more fragile in the grid, for example, a fillet is wrapped in aluminum foil after spraying with olive oil and herbs, then grilled for a while and you have a wonderful, delicious and good for you food. This would be a pleasure for people who fish in your family, and if the angler is a boy or gal, what better way to demonstrate the process of nature or a farm to the dinner table.
